Jesus Said “Follow me and I will make you Fishers of Men”

 Matt4:19

We have completed 4 of the 5 qualifying events for the 2008 season and it all comes down to Lake Stillhouse Hollow, near Belton Texas.

But let’s talk about the Lake Belton tournament April 26th:  What a beautiful Saturday it turned out to be after a major hail storm with tornadoes touching down Friday Night in Belton, Texas. There was some worry what the morning would look like after all those storms.  Well the fishing was good and with 58 of the 68 teams weighing limits, this would be a great day, and a great lake for a bass tournament. We weighed a total of 301 fish at 688.61 total pounds. The average team weight was 10.13 pounds.

The heavy limit and the big fish went to the team of Chris Baker, and Allen Green of Liberty Hill, TX. they came to the scales with an 18.04 limit including an 8.04 pound largemouth to earn $1874.00.

Fishing solo for this tournament was Travis Jones Jr. from Cedar Park, TX. Travis’s solo efforts at 15.10 pounds earned second place and a $1333.00 payday.

John Weatherly of Killeen, TX and partner Rex Wheeler from Belton, TX took third place with 14.51 pounds and a $1020.00 check.

So it all comes down to the Regional Qualifier. Lake Stillhouse Hollow has traditionally been our big bass event of the year, with the biggest fish of last season coming from this 6,429 acre Corp of Engineer Lake.

Roger and Jerral Boling from Cotton Wood Shores are still holding on to the Points Championship spot with 772 points, and Kevin Pederzani of Round Rock, TX.  and Dan Taylor from Leander, TX. trailing them only 9 points behind with 763 points.

Taking over the lead in the Youth Adult category is the team of Yung Follis, of Austin, TX. and Regan Vaca of Cedar Park, TX., there 24th place finish on Belton moved them 3 points ahead of Randy Jacoby from Austin, TX. Kevin Howell, of Elgin, TX. with 666 points.

With Roger and Jerral Boling currently leading the points, and should they become our points champions, we would then award the next highest male/female team the AOY for that category, we would also award the highest finishing youth/adult to fill out AOY teams, then the top 24 teams will qualify for the regional championship.
